Roger I. Arnold MD
Age 44, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday November 26, 2014. He was born June 15, 1970 in Canton to Roger E. and Linda J. (Payton) Arnold. Roger was a 1988 graduate of Louisville High School; he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Akron and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the St. Christopher's School of Medicine. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force during Desert Storm. He was a former member of the Canton Baptist Temple and a member of VFW Post #3747. Roger found great pleasure in volunteering as a tutor to numerous students, at the Canton Free Clinic and was awarded an Achievement Medal from the Air Force for volunteering for numerous quality of life issues. Roger was employed as a professor of Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Akron, Wayne Campus. He is preceded in death by his grandparents. Roger is survived by his parents, Roger E. and Linda Arnold of Louisville; one sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Randy Shaffer of Canton; one niece and nephew, Star and Xander Shaffer; a special friend, Danielle Marcum of Akron; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 3, 2014 at 12:30 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Friends may call Tuesday 5-7pm in the funeral home.
