Roger E. “Bones” Boyd
Age 70, of Louisville, passed away Thursday September 29, 2016 in his home. He was born October 24, 1945 in Hamlin, WV to the late Ellis and Ermal (Smith) Boyd. Roger was a Louisville resident most of his life and retired from Atlantic Pools in 2007. He was a Vietnam Navy veteran and a member of the VFW Post #3747. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Ellis Boyd; one sister, Linda Girard. He is survived by his wife, Becky (Shumaker) Boyd to whom he was married 44 years; three sons and daughters-in-law, Cliff and Barb Shumaker, Roger and Valerie McPhillen and Roger Boyd Jr.; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Ed Laura; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald “Rick” and Lyndell Boyd.
