Rodney D. Block Jr., age 56, of Canton, passed away Wednesday October 8, 2008 in his home following a sudden illness. He was born July 20, 1952 in Canton, OH. to Rodney D. and Thelma (Young) Block Sr. He was a life resident of the Canton area, a 1970 graduate of Canton South High School and a 1975 graduate of Malone College. Rodney was a member of Market Avenue Church of Christ where he served as a song leader. He is preceded in death by his father, Rodney D. Block Sr. He is survived by his wife, Theodora (Shrum) to whom he was married 31 years; three daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Keith Meyers of Jacksonville, FL, Rebecca and Cynthia Block both of Canton; one grandson, Daniel Meyers; mother, Thelma Block of Canton; one sister, Carol Block of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Theresa Block Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be Saturday October 11, 2008 at 12:00pm in Market Avenue Church of Christ with Keith Kull officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services at the church (11-12pm). The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
