Roberta A. “Bobby” Taylor
Age 91, of Canton passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Altercare of Nobles Pond. Born December 17, 1925 in Canton, Ohio to the late Afton and Anna (Lewis) Evans. She was a Canton resident most of her life having also resided in Peoria, AZ. She was a 1943 graduate of Canton Township High School. Roberta retired from Canton Local Schools in 1985. She was a member of Mt Zion Community Church where she served as Youth Director, Sunday school teacher, choir member and conference lay representative. Roberta was also a member of Sun City Nazarene Church in AZ. Preceded in death by her husband, Elden H. Taylor who passed away December 8, 2017; four sisters, Mary Barnhill, Ruth Lindsey, Jenny Quass and Carrie Evans. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Jill Taylor of Canton; one daughter, Dr. Melanie Taylor of Whittier, CA; five grandchildren, Kari (Rodney) Reid, Douglas (Krissy) Taylor, Katie Taylor, Lusanda (Moe)Hostetler and Nangamso (Jeremy) Valentine; five great grandchildren; dear nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Today, for both Bobby and Elden together, Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at 11:00 am in Mt Zion Community Church, 2637 Baum St SE, Canton, OH 44707. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to Mt Zion Community Church or Crossroads Hospice.
