Robert J. Unsworth Sr.
Age 79, of Canton, passed away Saturday October 29, 2011 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1932 in Hartville, OH to the late Wilbur and Matilda (Becker) Unsworth. He was a 1950 graduate of Canton South High School and married his high school sweetheart, Donna (Dencer) on June 9, 1951. He entered the U.S. Air Force and served as a mechanic. After his time in the service he opened his first of two gas stations. In 1967 he opened Robo Car Wash in Meyers Lake Plaza and in 1981 opened Hillsdale Car Wash and Robert has been in business for 57 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He and his wife were world travelers and avid NASCAR fans. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Twila Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Donna J. (Dencer) to whom he was married 60 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Deborah Unsworth Jr. of Canton, Rick and Kim Unsworth of Canton; five grandchildren, Wendy (Tim) Fashing, Robert (Natalie) Unsworth, Josh (Nicole) Unsworth, Jake and Emma Unsworth; one sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Bill Flowers of Toledo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 10:00am in St. Michaels Catholic Church with Fr. Don King as celebrant. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery.
