Robert H. Richardson, age 85, of Canton, died Sunday June 17, 2007 in Manor Care following an extended illness. He was born February 28, 1922 in Canton, to the late Thomas and Florence (Welton) Richardson. Robert was a life resident of the Canton and Alliance area and was a WWII Army veteran having served in the 307th and 82nd Airborne Division and was awarded three bronze stars for his service. He was the Owner/Operator of Credit Bureau Services of Alliance for 27 years, Owner/Operator of B&B Pool Shop in Alliance and was the Credit Manager for Sears and Roebuck Co. He was a member of First Christian Church and served as a volunteer with the McKinley Museum. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #467, Dr. Roach Outdoor League, Alliance Rotary Club, Stark County Gem and Mineral Club, Stark County Genealogy Club, Stark County Wilderness Center and Boy Scouts of America. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Elliott Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Ethel F. (Vancil) to whom he was married 64 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert K. and Pamela J. Richardson of Minerva; one daughter, Susan J. Lytle of Houston, DE; six grandchildren, Scott, Todd, Kent, Leslie, Lori and John; five great grandchildren, Joseph, Brandie, Cruz, Mallory and Jonah; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Alice Richardson of N. Canton. Funeral services will be Wednesday June 20, 2007 at 10am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Harold Davis officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Walter Reed Medical Center, Fisher House at 6900 Georgia Ave NW, Building #56, Washington, DC 20307, att: Kate Deyermond.
