Robert A. Pero
Age 91, of East Canton, passed away Friday January 23, 2015 in Aultman Compassionate Care. He was born August 14, 1923 in Louisville, OH to the late John F. and Marie M. (Besselman) Pero. Bob was a Osnaburg Township resident since 1937 and was the retired former owner/operator of Pero Dairy Farm for 38 years. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, the National Farmers Organization and Harrisburg Senior Citizens. Bob was a WWII Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. Pero in 2007 to whom he was married 63 1/2 years; two sisters, Lucille Eberhardt and Lillian Shaw; one son-in-law, D. Patrick Kauffman. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Richard "Dick" and Sue Pero of East Canton, Marilyn Kauffman of Green, OH, Jean and Tom Davis of Bluffton, SC, Jane Kalpac of Greenwood, SC; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday January 28, 2015 at 10:00am in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Benedict Catholic Church at 2207 – 3rd St SE., Canton, OH 44707, the East Canton Booster Club at 310 Browning Court, East Canton, OH 44730 or the charity of your choice.
