Robert C. Parks
Age 98, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday October 22, 2013 in Altercare of Navarre. He was born January 3, 1915 in Canton to the Homer C. and Lyrtha (Bair) Parks. Robert was a Canton area resident most of his life and was a resident of North Port, Florida for 17 years. He was a 1933 graduate of McKinley High School and a 1935 graduate of Canton Actual Business School. Robert was a WWII Navy Veteran. He retired from The Timken Company in 1975 as Assistant Personnel Director after 40 years of service. Robert was a member of the Church of the Covenant and Trinity Lodge #710 F&AM. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Parks in 1990; one sister, Mildred Barkey in 2001. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and John Sandy of Canal Fulton, Kay and Mike Leary of Magnolia, Jayne and Jeff Stofko of Greensburg, PA; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a special niece, Opal Ferrie; special nephew, Robert Barkey. Funeral services will be Friday October 25, 2013 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. William Watt officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
