Age 70, of Canton, passed away Thursday September 18, 2014 in Aultman Hospital. He was born December 8, 1943 in Canton to the late Joseph and Mildred (Powell) Michael. Bob was a 1961 graduate of McKinley High School where he was a member of the state champion swim team. He retired from the City of Canton Street and Sewer Department after 30 years of service. Bob was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he enjoyed serving as an usher and greeter. He was also a member of VFW Post #3747 and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose. Bob loved fishing with his son and grandsons, gardening, being outdoors, long drives with his wife and attending McKinley football games with his friend, Wade. Bob always enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and would never miss the chance to tell everyone how much he loved them. Bob had a way to make people laugh and will be deeply missed by many. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne A. Michael; one sister, Barb Grimsley; one brother, Donald "Arch" Michael; grandson, Liam Carter Bond; and one son, Jason Michael on September 5, 2014. Bob is survived by his wife, Linda L. (Corn) to whom he was married 16 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Mike Terry; daughter-in-law; Lesley Michael; one sister, Judy Hoover; step-children, Matt Bailey and Pam Mayle, Mike and Stacy Bailey, Megan and Kristian Bond; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Shad and Diana Shilling; beloved grandchildren, Nate, Nick, Cristian, Noah, Micah, Arterina, Alexis, Brandon, Caleb, Carter and Carlee; a host of other family and close friends. A celebration of Bob's life will be Wednesday September 24, 2014 at 7:00pm in Asbury United Methodist Church, 7344 Ridge Rd SE, East Sparta, OH 44626, with Pastor Ruthann Bosley officiating. Friends may visit 4-7pm on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church or The American Diabetes Association at P.O.
