Robert B. McCoury
Age 89, of Canton died Thursday, October 3, 2013 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center. Born March 12, 1924 in Newland, North Carolina to the late Raymond and Birdie (Burleson) McCoury. He was a Canton resident since 1949 and a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Canton Malleable Iron in 1989. Robert was a member of VFW Post #3747. Preceded in death by his wife, Molly McCoury in 1988; three sisters; his companion, Betty Wright. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis and James Murray of Minerva, Sherry Miller of Florence, SC; four grandsons, Joseph Murray, Robert Murray, James Murray and Stephen Kuznia; nine great grandchildren; one brother and spouse, John and Gladys McCoury of Canton. Funeral services will be Monday Oct. 7, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Interment in Robertsville Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00-4:00 pm.
