Robert L. Joy
Age 82, of Canton, passed away Friday September 24, 2010 in Meadow Wind Health Care. He was born February 17, 1928 in Waco, OH to the late George R. and Faye L. (Lee) Joy. Robert was a life resident of the Canton area and a graduate of Canton South High School. He retired from Republic Steel and was a member of the Canton Federation of Musicians Local #111. Robert loved music of all kinds and was a long time bass player. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine D. Joy in 2004; one daughter, Deidre Fink in 1998; one brother, Donald Joy; one sister, Laura Johnson. He is survived by his beloved four daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and John Dorward of Canton, Jeannie and Jim Spencer of Carrollton, Cindy and Mike Espenschied of Canton, Faye Eldred of Canton; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, George and Shorty Joy of Canton, Frank Joy of Cambridge; numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service will be conducted at a later date. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
