Robert L. Heaton, age 66, of Canton, died unexpectedly Sunday April 10, 2005 in Mercy Medical Center. Son of the late Jacob and Mary (Koontz) Heaton and was a Canton area resident for the past 50 years. A 1958 graduate of Canton South High School and served with the United States Navy from 1959 until 1965. He retired from the Timken Co. in 1997 after 34 years of service. Member of North Industry Christian Church, Ford Performance Club and American Legion Post #44. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Lytsell) to whom he was married 39 years; one daughter, Bonnie Heaton-Sanders of Canton; twin sons, Robert L. Heaton Jr. and his fiancee, Valerie Tiratto of Canton, Ronald L. and his wife, Deborah Heaton of Canton; seven grandchildren he deeply loved and greatly enjoyed, Ashlei, Kalei, Samantha, Nichole, Autumn, Ryan and Dylan; two brothers, Richard and John Heaton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley and Fred Decker, Betty Griffith. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Brother Charles Dazey officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8pm in the funeral home.
