Robert D. Crumrine, age 88, of East Canton, died Saturday July 2, 2005 in Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center. Son of the late Loren and Elva (Festerly)Crumrine and was an East Canton resident most of his life. a 1935 graduate of East Canton High School and a WWII Navy veteran where he served in the Pacific Theater. Bob retired from Timken Research in 1980 after 43 years service. he was an active member of the East Canton Church of God where he had served as a board member. Member of Hall of fame Luncheon Club and the Osnaburg Historical Society. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Jean Elliott. survived by his wife, Mary E. "Betty" (Myers) Crumrine to whom he was married 65 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Dan Berndt of Salem, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Barbara Crumrine of Junction City, OR; six grandchildren and their spouses, Dan and Lauren Berndt of Wooster, Kris and Glen Evert of Salem, Bethany and Shea Hartle, Caleb, Moriah and Grace Crumrine all of Junction City, OR; Six great grandchildren.
God saw he was getting tired
and a cure was not to be
So He put His arms around him
and whispered Come with me.
With tear-filled eyes we
watched him suffer
and fade away.
Although we loved him deeply,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hardworking hands put to rest,
God broke our hearts
to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Funeral services will be Thursday July 7, 2005 at 1:30pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor James L. Snyder and Pastor Mark Hunt officiating. Internment in Northlawn Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before services on Thursday (11:30-1:30pm). Memorial donations may be made to any of the following, East Canton Church of God at 210 E. Nassau St.East Canton, OH 44730, Osnaburg Historical Society at 131 E. Nassau St. East canton, OH 44730, or Foltz Community Center at 224 N. Wood St. East Canton, OH 44730.
