Robert F. Crank Sr.
Age 81 of Louisville passed away unexpectedly Tuesday October 19, 2021, in Mercy Medical Center. He was born September 8, 1940, in Olive Hill, KY to the late James Casper and Hazel (Newsome) Crank. Robert retired from DiPietro Excavating in 2002 and was formerly employed by Pep Oil Drilling for more than 20 years. He loved animals and farmed pigs, chickens, horses and goats. He especially loved his dogs Tramp and Minnie and was an avid hunter. He owned racehorses after his retirement and enjoyed gambling at the casino. In his younger years he was the horseshoe champion and an all-star basketball, softball, and checker player. He was an avid television watcher of all the oldies. Robert’s family was the pride and joy of his life. He adored his grand and great-grandchildren and loved to hold them. He loved when they visited and brought many smiles to his face as they met monthly for family parties and holidays. He is preceded in death by parents, James Casper and Hazel (Newsome) Crank; 5 brothers, Jack, Ted, James, Charlie and Raymond Crank; 5 sisters, Jean Jacoby, Gladys Cox, Ruth Beaver, Kathleen Meeusen and Anna Marie Crank; and adored granddaughter, Faith Fletcher who he longed to be together with again. We are thankful for the hope that we have knowing we will see him again because of his faith in Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Linda (Whaley) Crank; six children, Nadine (Tony) Stefanick, Robert Jr. (Michelle) Crank, Barb (Bob) McCutcheon, Tom (Linda) Crank, Patti (Shannon) Hostetler and Missy (Jeff) Fletcher; grandchildren, Tony (Della) Stefanick, Natalie (Adrian) Riley, Jessica Spencer, Cory (Dawn) Crank, Marissa Crank, Bob (Danielle) McCutcheon, Brittani (Brandon) Harris, Brandon (Autumn) Hostetler, Josh (Christie) Hostetler, Trevor (Chelsea) Hostetler, Nate Hostetler, Jon (Marissa) Crank, Joe Crank, Aaron (Nikki) Fletcher, Amanda (Santos) Ramos, Tara (Zack) Woodcox, Tyler Fletcher (Izzie Stamper) and Anthony Fletcher; 37 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Thelma J.
