Robert Atha Burner

Robert Atha Burner, age 86, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Roselane Nursing Home, in Massillon, Ohio. He was born in Philippi, West Virginia, on June 12, 1938 to the late Rupert Atha Burner and Pearl Elizabeth (Dadisman) Burner. 

Bob, spent his adult life in the Stark Co Community where he began his career at age 18 with Republic Steel in Canton, Ohio. He then went into the United States Army serving his country honorably. After which he returned to his career at Republic Steel, where he rose to the position of foreman. He retired with over 40 years of service.

Bob was an active member of the Louisville Church of Christ where he served in the capacity as a Deacon. He especially loved being a part of the Radiant Retirees.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty (Work) Burner in 2015.

Those left to cherish Bob’s memories are his children Scott (Jonnda) Burner, Kimberly (Gower) Ludwig, Kelly (Alan) Pettit, all of Tennessee and Jeffery (Amy) Burner of Louisville, Ohio; grandchildren Jillya (Brandon) Folks, Nathan (Katie) Burner, Alana (KJ) Lauck, Sarah Pettit, Victoria Ludwig, Joshua Ludwig and Jacob Pettit.

Friends may call Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Sanders Funeral home. Friends may also call from 10:00 am -11:00 am on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Louisville Church of Christ 1520 California Ave., Louisville, Ohio, 44641, with his funeral service starting at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Brian Grubbs as officiant. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Aultman Hospice in Bob’s memory. The family would like to personally thank Aultman Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
