Robert J. Balog “Pilot Bob” age 65, of North Industry, OH passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 in Aultman Hospital following an eleven-month courageous fight with esophageal cancer. Born September 1, 1956 in Canton, Ohio to the late Stephen Sr. and Irene (Oboy) Balog. He was a life resident of North Industry and a 1975 graduate of Canton South High School where he was a member of the wrestling and football teams. Robert was employed by Sarta Stark Area Regional for 23 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s/St. Benedict Catholic Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Robert’s joys were family, friends, his dog and cats, flying his airplane, riding motorcycles, snow mobiling, the Oboy Farm, Cleveland Browns and Pizza Oven Pizza. Preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Leo Vitale. He is survived by a brother, Stephen Balog Jr; two sisters, Deborah (Denny) Allem, Monica (Carey) Linerode; five nieces and nephews, Joe (Liz) Vitale, Amanda Linerode, Jennifer (David) Greene, Nichole Allem, Nathan (Sarah) Linerode; several great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Mary Tessanne and Jeff. All services will be private family with interment in Calvary Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Mary Grace Memorial Foundation, P.O.
