Robert L. Arnold of Canton passed away September 25, 2023, at Aultman Compassionate Care after a courageous, long struggle. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 27, 1964, in Canton and was a graduate of GlenOak High School. Bob worked for many years in security at Aultman Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Arnold, and his father, Lee (Marianne) Arnold; by his devoted and loving daughter, Alesha (Johnny) Cantrell; by his brothers, Jeffrey and Patrick Arnold; niece Lindsay and nephew Cameron all of Canton, and by his dog, Bella who he adored. He was preceded in death by his younger sister, Janice Marie Arnold.
Bob loved people and never met a stranger. He spent the last years of his life caring for his mother in the home where he grew up. Bob loved dogs and doted on those he owned over the years. His pleasures were simple: dinner with the love of his life, his daughter, Alesha; walking his dog and stopping to talk with neighbors; calling his father every night; taking his mom shopping; and fishing at Leesville Lake.
Bob played youth football for Plain Local when he was young. He loved the Cleveland Browns and music, knew countless songs by heart, had a great voice, and loved singing along. He had a loving, kind heart and cared for people less fortunate. His daughter remembers the two of them putting together gift bags for the needy. There was an almost childlike joy about him that endeared him to people who met him and loved him. He was loved and leaves an emptiness in our lives.
