Rita A. Weaver
Rita is at peace in the loving company of her beloved Paul (1922-1970), after a courageous battle with cancer. Rita was 86. A lifelong resident of Canton, she graduated from Mount Marie High School. Rita attended Saint Joseph Catholic Church, and attended school there during childhood. Rita was an adventurous traveler and loved snow. Her favorite place on earth was Alaska, where she spent much time. She was retired from Canton Local Schools, where she was a bus driver. She was also retired, after many years as a proofreader, from Harmon Publishing. Besides her husband, Rita is preceded in death by her dear parents, John and Alice Spilker, her two brothers, John Spilker and Paul Spilker and a grandson, Andrew Jacob Weaver. Rita is survived by her eight children and spouses; Jim (Nellie) Weaver of South Carolina, Jean Weaver, Linda (Edward) Poirrier, Joanne (Greg) Hartman, Gary (Linda) Weaver, Don(Melody) Weaver, Mary (Matthew) Cohen, and Rick (Michelle) Weaver, all of Canton. She had fourteen incredible Grandchildren: Lori Gibson, Charles Weaver, Suzanne Weaver, Shelley Darby, Brian Poirrier, Lisa Poirrier, Michael Talarico, January Talarico, Maria Moseley, Douglas Weaver, Paul Weaver, Joseph Weaver, Hannah Cohen, Ashley Weaver, twenty-two remarkable Great-Grandchildren, and two precious Great-Great Grandchildren who will also miss her. Numerous wonderful nieces and nephews also survive her. The family extends its sincere gratitude to the amazing personnel of Mercy Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Canton with Msgr. Frank Carfagna as Celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home.
