Rita M. Harris
Age 84, of East Canton died Saturday, December 19, 2009 in St. Joseph Care Center. Born June 17, 1925 in Northampton, England to the late John Charles and Rosehannah (Law) Downing. Rita moved to the United States at the age of 20 and was a Canton and East Canton resident most of her life. She was formerly employed by Sugardale for 10 years and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses North. Rita enjoyed knitting, crocheting, china painting, reading and had many pen pals that she corresponded with around the world. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Frederick Whitworth; her husband, Warren Harris in 2007; one son, Frederick Harris in 2006. Survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Dianne and John Meyers of Canton, Sharon Harris of Canton; four grandchildren, Michael Sell of Canton, Christine Kunkel of Finleyville, Pa, Molly Ramhoff of Canton, Aaron Harris of Louisville; two great granddaughters, Cassidy and Kaitlyn Kunkel both of Finleyville, PA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Peter Eno officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.
