Richard D. Zimmerman

Richard D. Zimmerman, age 87, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023.  He was born on December 14, 1935, to Vernon E. and Pauline M. (Pollock) Zimmerman.  Richard was a 1953 graduate of East Canton High School.  He retired from North Canton Medical Foundation and was a founding member of the of the East Canton Railroad Club and Minerva Flying Association; He also a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men’s Group .Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ida M. (Waltz); 2 Sons, Dale (Ruth) and David (Mary) Zimmerman; 3 grandchildren, Brian and Timothy  Zimmerman; Tami (Tyler) Mumford; 6 great grandchildren; 2 Brothers, James (Wilma) & Ernest (Sue) Zimmerman; 1 Sister, Gail (Gary) Obermiller. He was preceded in death by his parents; Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday January 11, 2023, at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Christy Suffecool officiating. Friends may call Tuesday January 10th, from 4-6pm at the Sanders Funeral Home and from 10-11 am prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at Mapleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 70 West Streetsboro St, Suite 201, Hudson, Ohio 44236.Arrangements are entrusted to the Sanders Funeral Home, 218 E Nassau St, East Canton, Ohio 44730.
