Richard M. Waikem Sr.
Age 69, of East Sparta died Monday, March 26, 2012 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 20, 1943 in Canton, OH. to the late Michael and Mary (Danesi) Waikem. He was a life resident of the Canton area and retired from Diebold Corp. with 40 years of service. Richard was also formerly employed with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Aultman Hospital. He was a member of the Ford Crown Victoria Club. Preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rachyl Mariah Waikem. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosemary (Sanderson) Waikem; three sons, Richard M. Waikem Jr. (Rosie Price) of Canton, Mark Waikem of Canton, James Waikem of East Sparta; two grandchildren, Tessa and Michael Waikem both of Canton; one great grandson, Anthony Michael of Canton; one sister and brother-in-law, Cecelia and Lowell Kramer of Canton; two brothers and sister-in-law, Michael and Jan Waikem, George Waikem all of Canton; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10:00 am in St. Mary's of Morges Catholic Church with Fr. Anthony Batt as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's of Morges Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's of Morges Catholic Church.
