Richard G. Slicker

Richard G. Slicker, age 82, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. He was born on September 16, 1940, in Canton, Ohio, to Per Lee and Vera E. (Andrews) Slicker. Richard retired from North Canton City Schools in 1996 after 29 years. He was formally a member of Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville, where he served as a deacon and elder, currently a member of the Damascus Methodist Church. National Education Assoc, Ohio Education Assoc, East Central Ohio Education Assoc, past president of N. Canton Education Assoc, Iota Lambda Sigma Fraternity of Delta Chapter, American Angus Assoc, Ohio Angus Assoc, and past 4H advisor. Richard cherished the family farm – Darije Farm, in East Canton.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter Sandra (Todd) Jones; son Glenn Slicker; stepdaughter Tiffany Millham; two grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. Two Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys (Roberts) Slicker; sister, Jean Slicker, and brother David (Ruth) Slicker

Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Sanders Funeral Home from 9 am – 11 am; funeral service will follow at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Long officiating. Richard will be laid to rest in Mapleton Cemetery.
