Richard Severs
Richard Severs, age 78, of East Sparta, passed away Wednesday October 11, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. The family of God is joyfully awaiting his arrival; he made his final exit here and his grand entrance into heaven. He will be met by friends and family just inside the Eastern Gate. There to meet him is his parents, who preceded him in death, Evert and Anna Beatrice (Nichols) Severs; three brothers, John, Joe and Lester Severs. He leaves his loving wife of 24 years, Donna J. (Barrett); two step-sons, Roger (Jo Ann) Barrett of East Liverpool, William Barrett with whom he resided; one granddaughter whom he adored, Jenny Barrett; a godson, Kyle Fowler; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Donna Barrett, Florence Lockhart; many nieces, nephews and good friends. He was a faithful servant of God and was a member of Canton First Free Methodist Church where he was an usher and counter. He was a WWII Navy Veteran where served aboard the USS Gilliam. Richard retired from Coen Oil in 1990 after 33 years of service. Funeral services will be Saturday October 14, 2006 at 10:30am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Raymond Gill officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canton First Free Methodist Church at 1014 Harrison Ave SW, Canton, OH 44706.
