Richard R. “Dick” Offineer
Age 77, of East Canton, passed away Friday March 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. He was born June 15, 1940 in Osnaburg Township to the late Frank and Kathryn (Wortman) Offineer. Dick was a 1958 graduate of East Canton High School and retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1997 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, member of UAW #542 and the American Sportsman’s Club. Dick loved auctions, gardening, sharing his gardens bounty, antiques; restoring his Model T and 1957 Ford tractor with his good friend, Larry Bartolone. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley M. (Kahler) to whom he was married 56 years; one son, Mark Offineer of East Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and James Vertolli of N. Canton; two grandchildren, Staci (Zach) Matchett and Adam (Haley Collins) Vertolli; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Maxine Offineer of Louisville. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 7, 2018 at 10:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Joe Wright officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens at 2:30pm. Friends will be received Tuesday 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Fairhope United Methodist Church, Louisville.
