Richard Blaze Lunsford, age 59, of Waynesburg died Monday September 1, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born February 3, 1949 in Canton to Robert F. Sr. and Virginia Lunsford. He was a Waynesburg resident for the past six years and a member of the S.A.L. Massillon Post# 221. Preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Lunsford Sr; former wife, Diannia L. Lunsford; daughter, Carol K. Lunsford; grandson, Jason Butler; brother, Brian Lunsford. Survived by his mother and step father, Virginia and David McBurney of Perry Twp; companion and daughter the light of his life, Shelley Leech and Raven Blaze Leech-Lunsford both of the home; two daughters, Donna L. Lunsford of Waynesburg, Crystal A. Butler of California; one step daughter, Michele E. Newman of Waynesburg; numerous grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, Robert F. and Cynthia L. Lunsford of Perry Twp, Jeffrey T. Lunsford and friend, Gary of Canton. Memorial services will be Saturday September 6, 2008 at 12:00pm at Perry Park on Lennox Ave. with Rev. David Dodson officiating. The family request no flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to defray expenses.
