Richard L. "Butch" Guinther Sr.
Age 75, of Canton died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center following an extended illness. Born July 24, 1939 in Canton, Ohio to the late Richard J. and Mary Alice (Strong) Guinther. He was a life resident of Canton. Butch retired from Precision Hard Chrome in 2001 and was formerly employed by the Canton Motor Speedway. Preceded in death by his wife, Norma Guinther in 2008; three brothers, Robert and Jim Guinther, David Bruder; one infant sister; step- father, George Bruder; step-mother, Edith Guinther. He is survived by one daughter and her companion, Pam Guinther and Tom Gray of Canton; one son, Richard L. Guinther Jr. of Canton; several step-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Ross of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Cheryl Bruder of Oak Harbor, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; his canine companions, Buddy and Tinker. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Deacon David Kenney officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Cancer Society or the Canton South Band Boosters.
