Richard N. Garner
Richard N. Garner, age 86, of Canton, passed away Saturday December 1, 2007 in the Legends Care Center following an extended illness. He was born October 4, 1921 in Battlesburg, OH, to the late N. Clyde and Clara Catharine (Brothers) Garner. Richard was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and a life resident of the Canton area. He was a 1939 graduate of Canton Township High School and retired from the Diebold Co. in 1983 after 43 years of service. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Lee Garner; one brother, Virgil Garner. He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. (Crumley) to whom he was married 65 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Shirley Garner of Perry Township, Dan and Diane Garner of Louisville; one daughter, Lori Garner of Canton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Richard and Dianah Garner, Lisa Garner, Krista and John Burchett, Kimberly Vandine; four step-great grandchildren; one sister, Donna Jeanne McDannel of Canton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 5, 2007 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Vernon Shepherd officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8pm. The family would like to thank the Aultman Dialysis Center, Woodlawn Care Center and the Legends Care Center.
