Richard L. Ballas
Richard L. Ballas, age 76, of Canton, died Monday November 7, 2005 in his home following an extended illness. Born, May 9, 1929 in Detroit, MI., to the late Fred and Dolly (Palmer) Ballas. He was a seaman 1st class with the U.S. Navy and was a Canton area resident since 1950. Richard retired from Danner Press as a journeyman, in 1994 after 44 years of service. Member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen I. Ballas in 2004. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick L. and Lori Ballas, Terry and Hope Ballas all of Canton; three grandchildren, Shannon and Tara Ballas, Nicole Feriani all of canton; one sister, Shirley Rohrer of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Annamarie Ballas of Dayton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, November 11, 2005 at 1:00pm in Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Dew officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour before services on Friday at the church (12-1:00pm). The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
