Rex Rollins
Age 79, of Canton, passed away Wednesday December 19, 2012 in Maison Aine Nursing Home, Stow, OH. He was born January 22, 1933 in Elk View, WV to the late Bert and Alma (Burdette) Rollins. Rex was a Korean War Army Veteran and a Canton area resident since 1955. He retired from The Timken Company in 1986 after more than 31 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and the Golden Lodge. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Rollins and Bert Rollins Jr.; three sisters, Dolly Rollins, Minnie Allen and Wilma Rose; one grandson, Daniel Joseph Rollins; one great-great-grandson He is survived by his wife, Wilda L. (Stricklen) to whom he was married 58 years; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rex D. and Elaine Rollins of Canton, Monty Rollins of Canton; one daughter, Rebecca Scott of Akron; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Rollins of Elk View, WV; two sisters, Ruby Hudspeth of Canton and Flossie Kennedy of Clendenin, WV; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Saturday December22, 2012 at 1:00pm in Melscheimer Cemetery with Rev. Larry Brown officiating.
