Rev William D Wright Sr
Age 92, of Canton died Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Rose Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born August 31, 1924 in Alliance, Ohio to the late William G. and Sevilla S. (Smith) Wright. Bill was a life resident of Stark County and a WWII Army Air Corps veteran. He was a 1943 graduate of Alliance High School, 1950 graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Dyke-Spencerian College and attended the United Methodist Ministerial Course of study through Garrett Evangelical Seminar, Evanston, IL. He retired from Society Bank of Waynesburg where he was the branch manager in 1985 after 29 years of service. Rev Wright served as a minister of Mapleton U.M.C., Mineral City U.M.C., New Franklin U.M. C., and served as interim minister with many other churches. Preceded in death by his wife, Norma Wright in 2008 to whom he had been married 57 years; one brother, Robert Wright; one sister, Dorothy Collette. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Shirley Wright of Sun City, AZ, William D. Jr and Pam Wright of Canton, Barry Wright of Canton; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Nathan Daun of Alliance; one sister-in-law, Ellen Wright of Orrville, AL; a very special person, Carolyn Neading of Canton. The family would like to thank Rose Lane and Sprenger Hospice for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:00 am in Mt Zion Community Church, 2637 Baum St SE, Canton, OH. 44707, with Pastor Bruce McLaughlin and Pastor Orion Aubihl officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday from 9:00-10:00 am
