Rev. Paul M. Rexrode
Rev. Paul M. Rexrode, age 89, of Canton died Saturday, May 12, 2007 following an extended illness. Born August 18, 1917 in Bartow, WV. to the late Miner J. and Zernia (Moyer) Rexrode. He was a Canton area resident most of his life and a WWII Army veteran. Paul was a 1935 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and a graduate of Marion College, Marion, IN. Retired from Perry Local Schools in 1985 after 33 years of service. He had been a former minister with various Wesleyan Methodist Churches and had also been a long time tree trimmer. Member of Robertsville Wesleyan Methodist Church and was instrumental in the development and served on the board of the Stark Federal Credit Union. Preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Jean Rexrode in 2005; two sisters, Adeline Maydock and Ruth Stitt; two brothers, James and Donald Rexrode. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Larry Hart of Hartville; one son, Mark E. Rexrode of Canton; five grandchildren, Larry Jr. and Terry Hart, Julie Haines, Mary Jean and Mark J. Rexrode; six great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred Mydock of Butler, PA, Dorothy and George Lektorich of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Sherry Domer and the staff at Shepherd's Gate Assisted Living in Hartville for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 1:30 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev Thomas Haight and Rev William Cope officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:30 - 1:30 pm.
