Raymond L. Skipper Jr., age 75, of Carrollton, died unexpectedly, Friday August 11, 2006 in Aultman Hospital. He was born July 28, 1931 in Canton, to the late Raymond L. and Elizabeth (Maly) Skipper Sr. Raymond was a 1949 graduate of Canton South High School and a Korean War Army veteran. He was a Carrollton area resident since 1982, prior to which he had resided in Canton. He retired from Bearings Inc. in 1996 after 45 years of service and was also employed by Carrollton Ace Hardware for 10 years. Raymond was a member of Wesley Community Chapel, Carrollton, where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, on the Advisory Board and in many other capacities at the church. He was a member and local coordinator for Retired Service Volunteer Program, and served as a volunteer with the Carrollton Food pantry and at the Carrollton Elementary School. He had also been a former Boy Scout Leader for 15 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Carol A. Skipper in 1985; one son, Michael A. Skipper in 1985; one step-son, Robert Johnston in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Lillian M. (Henderhan) to whom he was married 19 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Ron and Jackie Skipper of Lewistown, MT., Dr. Marty and Pamela Skipper of Orlando, FL; three step-sons and their spouses, Paul M. and Sue Johnston of Canton, Timothy Johnston of Canton, Kim and Kathy Johnston of Urbana, IL; one step-daughter, Judith Ekleberry of Lakewood, OH; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Carolee Skipper of Chagrin Falls, OH. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Gordon Warner officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 5-7pm in the Wesley Community Chapel in Carrollton and one hour before services on Tuesday at the funeral home (10-11am).
