Raymond Lloyd Reese

Raymond Lloyd Reese, age 66, of Sherrodsville, OH., passed away Friday, September 3, 2003, following a very brief illness. He was born January 26, 1938 in Roswell, OH., son to the late Edward "Bailey" and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Reese. He was a 1955 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, a 1959 graduate of Bowling Green State University and received his Masters Degree from Dayton University. He was a educator for 36 years in the Tusky Valley, Louisville, Jackson and Plain Local School districts. He most recently was a Principle at GlenOak High School. Ray touched many young lives as a principal, teacher, coach and mentor. He was inducted in both the Tuscarawas and Stark County Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. He was an active member of New Cumberland United Methodist Church. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lizzy and Bailey, a sister Margaret, and a brother Linwood. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy (Lahm) Reese; one daughter and son-in-law; Lisa and Rick Crislip of Louisville; one son and daughter-in-law; Matt and Shelly Reese of Mineral City; two granddaughters, Kylee and Alyx Crislip both of Louisviil; one sister and brother-in-law, Ramona and Bill Erwin of New Philadelphia; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Barb Reese of New Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Salli Reese of Roswell, OH., numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Following a long life of giving he was able to give in death by donating to the Life Banc so others could live. A memorial service will be Tuesday September 7, 2004, at 11:00 am in the New Cumberland United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ted Knapp officiating. Friends may call Monday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the New Cumberland United Methodist Church at 4058 New Cumberland Rd., Mineral City, OH 44656 or to the club of your choice at GlenOak High School at 901 44th St NW, Canton, OH 44709.
