Raymond T. Beck, age 90, of Paris, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on April 30, 1934, in Canton, Ohio, Raymond was the son of the late Evart and Margaret (Arndt) Beck. A lifelong resident of the East Canton and Paris communities, Raymond was deeply rooted in his faith and community.
Raymond loved the Lord. He was an active and devoted member of Canton Baptist Temple, where he found strength and fellowship. A hardworking and dedicated entrepreneur, Raymond was the owner and operator of Beck Energy Corporation since 1972 and the Fairways at Twin Lakes Golf Course. Outside of his family, his passion was his farmland and being a developer and investor of real estate. He often said, “buy dirt” and “work hard, save your money”.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Brian Beck; sisters, Arlene Rodman, Janice Tressel, Dorothy Rohal and Virginia Howell; brothers, Evart Blaine, William, Richard and Robert Beck.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Carolyn Sue (Bush) Beck, whose unwavering love and companionship enriched his life. Raymond's legacy lives on through his sons, Tim Beck of and David (Kristen) Beck. He was a cherished grandfather to Lauren Beck, Emma Beck, Kaitlyn Beck (Craig Amos), Megan (Aaron) Bishop, and Julianne (Andrew) Rowles; great grandchildren, Owen, Judah, Hudson, Norah, Addison and Finn; brother-in-law, Chuck Bush along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation for Raymond will be held at Canton Baptist Temple, 515 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, Ohio 44708, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 3, 2025, with Pastor Mike Frasier officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canton Baptist Temple in Raymond’s memory.
Raymond will be remembered for his enduring faith, dedication to his family, and the impact he had on his community and industry. His life was a testament to love, hard work, and perseverance. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
