Ray Dawson , age 90, of Massillon died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in Affinity Medical Center, Doctors Campus following a brief illness. Born in Burton, WV. on May 17, 1917 to the late William C. and Ella M. (Bowers) Dawson. He was a Canton area resident since 1939 and retired from the Timken Company after 39 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife, Martha Dawson in 1984; one sister, Evelyn Bettis. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Robert Buckle of Bradenton, FL; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Patricia Dawson of Massillon; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, William Arnol and Fera Dawson of Barnesville, OH, Ralph Dawson of Sugar Island, MI; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Glenn Hawkins officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
