Ray H. Bauman
Ray H. Bauman, age 81, of Magnolia, died Thursday, April 27, 2006 in Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH. on May 6, 1924 to the late Raymond H. and Magdeline (Siffrin) Bauman. He was a life resident of the Canton and Magnolia areas and retired from Canton Business Machines in 1985. Army veteran of WWII where he served as Tank Commander of the 710th Tank Battalion in the South Pacific. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and Disabled America Veterans. Ray was an avid hunter and member of the Stark County Archers and Goodyear Wingfoot Bowhunters Club. Preceded in death by one brother, Robert Bauman. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma M. (Wilson) Bauman; nine children, Frances (Bill Burrow, Sr.) Haney of Mineral City, Vivien (Larry) Thouvenin of Alliance, Raymond (Mary) Bauman of Massillon, Norma (Bob Cohen) Bauman, Nancy Reischman of Mineral City, David Bauman of Carrollton, Mary (Scott) Daniels of Massillon, Paula (Dale) Schillig of Louisville, Julie (Nick) Bauman-Breach of Occonomowac, WI; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Bauman of Canton; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:00 am in St. Peter's Catholic Church with Msgr. John C. Finnigan as celebrant. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. with prayers services at 1:45pm. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave.
