Phyllis P. Smith-Braley
Age 76, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday February 23, 2012 in Altercare of Navarre. She was born January 29, 1936 in Clay County, WV to the late Leamon and Ina Opal (Parker) Hanshaw. Phyllis was a Canton area resident most of her life and had attended Waynesburg Freewill Baptist Church. Phyllis fought a long and courageous battle with many health afflictions, displaying great strength and faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Otis M. "Bill" Smith in 1989; second husband, Gerald Braley in 2001; one sister, Helen Seymoure. She is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Smith of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Gloria Smith of Canton, Robert and Denise Smith of Dellroy; one step-son and spouse, Jeffrey and Charlotte Braley of Ovapa, WV; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tracy and Ella Hanshaw of Sebring, Robert and Dottie Hanshaw of Dellroy; one sister, Lona Austin of Wallback, WV. Funeral services will be Tuesday February 28, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Stanley officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
