Pearl M. Schlub, age 103, of Canton, passed away Thursday February 5, 2009 in the Canton Christian Home. She was born December 2, 1905 in Canton to the late John and Minnie (Hockensmith) Hert. Pearl was the oldest and longest member of Westbrook Park United Methodist Church for 91 years, she had worked with the youth for 17 years and was active with the missionary group. She had served as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for 15 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Schlub in 1985; one son, Gene Schlub in 1928; one brother, Walter Hert; two sisters, Erma Wenger Williams and Helen Seifer. She is survived by a special "son and daughter-in-law," Harold and Nan Feltmate of New Minas, Nova Scotia; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Funeral services will be Monday February 9, 2009 at 1:00pm in Westbrook Park United Methodist Church. Friends may call one hour before services at the church on Monday (12-1pm). Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Westbrook Park Meals on Wheels or the Canton Christian Home.
