Paul R. Nelson, age 78, of Canton, died Saturday evening in Hanover House due to complications from surgery. Born November 10, 1925 in Edwardsville, IL., son of the late,
Louis and Frances (Heisterbaum) Nelson. He was a Canton area resident most of his life and a Navy Veteran. Formerly owned and operated Nelson Brothers Tree Service and retired from Beaver excavating. Member of First Lutheran Church and Laborers International Union of North America Local #1015. Paul was an avid gardener. Preceded in death by three infant children; and a sister, Mildred Wackerly. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty (Walter)Nelson;two daughters and a son-in-law, Paulette Nelson of Canton, Sandra and Richard Kimble of Alliance; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dr. Larry and Cindy Nelson of Central, SC., Vernon Nelson of Canton; five grandchildren; five great-granchildren; sister, Evelyn Hite of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Martha Nelson of Canton. Funeral services will be Tuesday September 28, 2004 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on south Cleveland Ave. with Pastor George Keeler officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call two hours prior to the servic on Tuesday (11:00am - 1:00pm)
