Givins, Paul J. "Pete"
age 72, of Canton, was called to meet his Lord and Savior on Tuesday April 28, 2009. Pete was a 1954 graduate of East Sparta High School and retired from Fisher Foods in 2007 after 54 years of service. Paul was a member of Pike Grange for 54 years and was a member of Pomona, State and National Grange and served as a Stark County delegate for six years. He was a member of Friendship Community Church where he served on the advisory board. Paul enjoyed serving the community by delivering Meals on Wheels twice a week for nearly 11 years and was a faithful Red Cross blood donor. He enjoyed his Wednesday morning breakfast with the Fisher Retirees and attending his grandchildren's sports events. His family was truly the love of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Ida (Minor) Givins. He is survived by his wife, Shelva C. (Pack) to whom he would have been married 52 years on August 17, 2009; three children and their spouses, Marsha and Darrell Brooks of Jacksonville, FL, Pamela and Robert Tyler of Massillon, Kevin and Christina Givins of Navarre; 9 grandchildren, Brandon, Whitney, Austin, Adam, Andrew, Aidan, Jessica, Lauren and Kailyn; one sister, Phyllis Clark of Navarre; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday May 2, 2009 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas Wiles officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Friday 5-8pm with grange services at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or the charity of your choice.
