Patricia A. Mittas
Patricia A. Mittas, age 70, of Canton, died Friday August 17, 2007 in Aultman Hospital with her family gathered by her side. She was born April 4, 1937 in Canton, to the late Joseph E. and Rebecca (Grant) McFarland. She was a life resident of the Canton area, a 1955 graduate of Canton South High School and received her degree in Education in 1959 from Kent State University. Pat was an educator in the Canton Local Schools for a number of years and co-owner/operator of Mittas Meats for 15 years, with her husband, Kirk. She was a member of Dueber United Methodist Church and the Canton South AARP. She is survived by her husband, Kirk Mittas to whom she was married 38 years; five sons whom she proudly help achieve the rank of Eagle Scout and their wives, William Mittas of Cleveland, Charles and Lisa Matthews of Brookfield, OH, Tony and Clarissa Mittas of Tijeras, NM, Timothy and Tally Matthews of Bolivar, Michael Mittas of Canton; six grandchildren, Jeremey, Joshua, Colton and Joey Matthews, Nicholas and Marika Mittas and Natasha McGraw; one brother and sister-in-law, Grant R. and Jean McFarland of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Tuesday August 21, 2007 at 7:00pm in the Dueber United Methodist Church with Dr. Chester Harris officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at 525 N. Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406-9274.
