Pamela L. Swallen

Age 75, of East Canton passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 in Mercy Medical Center following a two-year battle with cancer. Born April 23, 1943 in Canton, Ohio to the late Wilson and Nadine Schweyer. She was an East Canton resident most of her life. Pamela was a 1961 graduate of East Canton High School, a graduate of Defiance College and had additional education at Ashland University. Pamela retired as an elementary special education teacher with the Minerva Local School District in 2006 with 18 years of service. She was also previously employed by Lakeside High School and North Canton Hoover High School. Pamela was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Minerva where she served as a member of the choir, council president, and chair of the worship and music committees. Preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brandon Pandorf. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard L. Swallen; a son and daughter-in-law, Bryn and Laurie Swallen; a daughter, Blythe Pandorf; three grandchildren, Tristan, Chloe and Keira; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharal and John Cross, Jeanne and Duane Lipps; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Khalil and staff for their special care given to Pamela. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan 23, 2019 at 11:00 am in St Paul Lutheran Church, 515 E. Line St, Minerva, OH. 44657, with Pastor Robert Linsz officiating. Interment in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church from 10 – 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to St Paul Lutheran Church.
