Opal B. Seefong

Opal (Bechtel) Laubender Zunkehr Seefong, age 100, passed away on September 4, 2023.

She was born on February 22, 1923, in Canton, Ohio, to Lester and Stella (Snyder) Bechtel.

Opal was an East Canton graduate, member of Grace Brethren Church in N Canton where she directed the choir for over 30 years and sang solos; active in Women of Grace at the local, district and national levels; Canton Afternoon Garden Club; PTA; Mother Signers; Mapleton Homemakers.

Those left to cherish her memory are children, Kathy (Greg) Morgan, Linda (Paul) Ritchey; Craig (Darlene) Laubender; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Dee Schilperoot.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Gerson Laubender; 2nd husband, Vernon Zumkehr; 3rd husband, Harold Seefong; brother, Glen Bechtel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8th at Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton from 5-7pm.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 9th at 11am and visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Pastor Joseph Cosentino will officiate.  Opal will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Louisville, Ohio.
