Norma E. "Nonie" Shaheen
Age 91, of Canton, passed away Wednesday November 9, 2011 in the Pines following a 20 year battle with Alzheimer's. She was born December 6, 1919 in Upper Middletown, PA to the late Charles and Pearl (Richardson) Rizer. Norma was a Canton area resident since 1935 and was a member of First Christian Church, Canton. She truly enjoyed china painting, ceramics, all crafts, was an excellent seamstress, an outstanding cook and homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Shaheen in 2005; one brother, Charles Rizer; two sisters, Helen Mason and Pauline Carey; a son-in-law, Pete Tinus. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Seroteck and Shelia Tinus both of Canton; three grandchildren, Sherry (Jerry) Prestier, Renee Rogers and Mike Tinus; six great-grandchildren, Jerry (Ally), Josh, Joe and Jamie Prestier, Marissa and Alyssa Rogers; one great-great grandson, Jerry D. Prestier; one brother, Robert Rizer of Florida; one sister, Charlotte Fichtner of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Pines and staff for their loving care of Norma during her stay. Funeral services will be Monday November 14, 2011 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Bullock officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
