Norma L. Guinther
Norma L. Guinther, age 67, of Canton, passed away Saturday February 9, 2008 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. She was born December 28, 1940 in Carrollton, OH, to the late Lonnie and Helen (Simonds) Moyer. Norma was a 1959 graduate of Carrollton High School where she had played the Clarinet in the band and was a member of the Carrollton Alumni Association. She was an Army Veteran having served in 1961. She was a member of the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199, Secretary for the Waco AARP #5219 and was the Historian for the Canton South Band Boosters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Lucas and Lois Nape; two brothers, Clarence and Ralph "Moe" Moyer; two infant brothers, Carl and Donald Moyer; one infant sister, Lura Belle Moyer. She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Guinther Sr. to whom she was married 45 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Craig Wills of Canton; one son, Richard L. Guinther Jr. of Canton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Moyer, Harold and Irene Moyer all of Minerva, Raymond and Geraldine Moyer of Carrollton; three step-grandchildren, Craig Jr., Kimberly and Tina Wills. Funeral services will be Wednesday February 13, 2008 at 1:00pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton, with Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made, in Norma's name, to Canton South High School, Carrollton High School or for the care of animals.
