Muriel E. “Peg” Saur
Age 95, of Elyria, OH passed away Tuesday August 8, 2017 in Wesleyan Village, Elyria. She was born December 31, 1921 in Robertsville, OH to the late Noble S. and Carrie E. (Klopfenstein) Clapper. Peg was a Cleveland area resident most of her life. She was a WWII Army veteran where she served as a nurse. She was a 1944 graduate of Aultman School of Nursing and 1953 graduate of Ashland College. She retired from the Lakewood Board of Education in 1986 after more than 17 years of service as a school nurse and was formerly employed by Aultman Hospital. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Lakewood, First Methodist Church, Elyria and Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, North Ridgeville. Peg is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick L. Saur in 2012; one son, Frederick L. Saur Jr, one sister, Marjorie Rue. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Michael Callinan; son and daughter-in-law, David N. and Ruth Saur; three granddaughters, Katherine Prendergast, Meredith Olszewski and Kirsten Saur; one grandson, David A. “Drew” Saur; two great-grandsons, Declan and Tiernan Prendergast; one sister, Martha (Tom) Schoonover. A celebration of life service will be Sunday August 27, 2017 at 1:00pm in the Wesleyan Village at 807 West Ave., Elyria, OH 44035. A private graveside service was conducted in Robertsville Cemetery.
