Monroe Vandevender
Age 81, of Canton died unexpectedly Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Born May 12, 1934 in Huttonsville, WV to the late Adam and Mable (Barb) Vandevender. He was a Canton resident since 1957 and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Monroe retired from Wilson Rubber in 1989 with 33 years of service. He also was owner/operator of Monroe Lawn Furniture. Preceded in death by four brothers, Woodrow, Kenneth, Hoy and Junior Vandevender. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn G (Kimbrew) Vandevender; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonny and Robert Ammond of Delroy; one granddaughter, Vicki Ammond of Delroy. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb 4, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave with Chaplain Ray Pfahler officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 am.
