Miriam L. Eckenweiler
Age 94, of Canton, passed away Tuesday January 5, 2016 in the House of Loreto. She was born June 18, 1921 in Youngstown, OH to the late Elmer and Mildred (Stephan) Kuntz Sr. In 1940, Miriam was in the first graduation class of Timken High School. She was a member of St. Mary/St Benedict Parish and formerly active with the Mayfield Senior Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. “Bud” Eckenweiler in 2005; one brother, Elmer Kuntz Jr; one sister, Peg Kessler. Miriam is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Eckenweiler, Shari and Roger Rodocker, Patricia and Scott Parks; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Randall Kuntz; three sisters, Arlene Kessler, Betty Burse and Velma McDonald. The family would like to thank the Sisters of Congregation of the Divine Spirit, nurses and staff of the House of Loreto for their compassion and care during her residency. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday January 8, 2016 at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where the procession will form, with Fr. Robert Kaylor as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home.
