Mildred M. Pero
Mildred M. Pero, age 84, of East Canton passed away unexpectedly Tuesday November 6, 2007 in Aultman Hospital. She was born May 19, 1923 in Osnaburg Township to the late Anton and Mary Stefanick. Mildred was a life resident of the East Canton area and a charter member of St. Benedict Catholic Church where she was active with the Alter and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Centerville Women's Club, Harrisburg Senior Citizens, East Canton Booster Club and opened her home to foreign exchange students over the years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Angelo Stefanick; one sister, Ann Surmay; son-in-law, D. Patrick Kauffmann. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Pero to whom she was married 60 years; four children and their spouses, Richard "Dick" and Sue Pero of East Canton, Marilyn Kauffmann of North Canton, Jean and Tom Davis of East Canton, Jane Kalpac of Greenwood, SC; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary St. John of Canton and Virginia and Francis Haren of Louisville; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Donna Beletic of Cleveland; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday November 10, 2007 at 10:00am in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Interment in St. Louis Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, East Canton.
