Mildred I. Blackburn
Mildred I. Blackburn, age 82, of Canton, died unexpectedly in Aultman Hospital Saturday evening, June 25, 2005. Born in Waynesburg, OH. on August 15, 1922 to the late Andrew and Anna (Olear) Almasy. She was a life resident of the Canton area and retired from Mercy Medical Center. A very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Canton, also member of the Alter Rosary Society and the Sokols. Mildred was an avid fisherman and cake baker. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Blackburn in 1964;four brothers, Paul, Andrew Jr., Carl and Edward Almasy; two sisters, Mary Almasy and Anna Koplock. Survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Anna Blackburn of Canton, Mark and Linda Blackburn of Minerva, Thomas and Jeannette Blackburn of Minerva, Patrick and Vikki Blackburn of Canton; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Dobransky of Waynesburg; numerous nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday June 29, 2005 at 10:00a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Sommer MSC as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, 6 - 8 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave.
